About Tania
Tania Elsafin is the author of the CAR Confidence guides: what to check on a used car, how to read its records and what the figures say about cars like it.
The figures in her guides are counted from public records, most of all DVSA’s anonymised MOT data. Each guide says how its figures were counted. Rules and rights are checked against GOV.UK or Citizens Advice and linked where they are used.
The guides are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools. Every figure is checked against the counts before a guide is published. Each guide carries the date it last changed.
